I know you are probably pinked out on these blog posts too but hey.........it's a pink world over here no matter how I look at it. I promise to switch over to some other colours next week so be patient if you think I have a one track mind. When it came time to gift wrap the final Charlotte Moss giveaway gift for fellow blogger Terri ( I simply adore that girl) at La Dolfino I thought it would be stylishly suitable to use a gift wrap that shows the Left Bank streets in Paris. Yes, this is the gift wrap that everyone frames as a poster. In fact, I think I might just do one up for that Chic Room of mine. I rarely use wired ribbon in a shipped gift as it tends to flatten out in transit but couldn't resist on this one as it just jumped into my hand. I love wired ribbon but only if I can fuss with it before handing it over, give it one last fluff as it tends to have a mind of it's own even just sitting there. Hopefully Terri will enjoy her Charlotte Moss ~ Left Bank Votive Set this weekend as UPS tells me it should show up in California today. Enjoy the fragrance Terri.
Suitcase Tissue
Something about tissue paper I forgot to mention the other day. A nice side benefit to having a ream of tissue is that you have plenty on hand to use for suitcase packing. I use it between layers to keep everything folded nice and reduce wrinkling. Especially good for shirts, linen and lingerie. I know how retro this sounds but it does work and is a much better packing choice than dry cleaner plastic with it's chemical risk. Call me crazy but a tissue wrapped and layer lined suitcase is a organized and wrinkle-free sight to behold. Even the custom inspector will be impressed.

A gorgeous bit of Pink Paris from Broomhill Pictures on Etsy. Both images are available for framing and run $15-20.00. Shipping from Canada.
A deliciously sweet welcome to new readers and followers.

Well, that gift is a treat enough. OMG...I am a self proclaimed paper junkie!!
ReplyDeleteI can soooo appreciate it!
Luv it,
L.
Beautiful and how delectable are those sweets! One more use for tissue paper? It makes a great, inexpensive light diffuser when taking photographs. (You knew I was going to go there, didn't you?) Thanks for your birthday wishes for my Jamie.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Stephanie
What a beautiful gift...your wrapping is amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sande, my beautiful, beautiful Left Bank package arrived last night, and I loved every bit of opening it, from the packing box to the perfectly pleated pink tissue inside to the the pale pink peony and wired pink ribbon--everything was gorgeous. And that was before I'd even made it to the votive candles! Their box and the candles themselves are, indeed, lovely. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of wrapping with tissue, and I adore the way you use pleating. I also love your idea of using tissue between layers of clothing in one's luggage. Just lovely.
Thank you for sharing your talent and creativity with us. To receive a gift is always a treat, but to receive one so thoughtfully and artfully wrapped is a true treasure.
All best,
Gigi
Hi Sande, I just know Terri will love your packaging that you chose with such care. Who wouldn't? it is so lovely and I for one never get tired of pink so please feel free to keep it coming. A gift wrapped box from you would be a gift in of itself, It would not have to have anything inside at all. Presentation is everything and you my friend are the Master!

Sande,
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I visited. I love this post and I love the paper you used on this gift. It looks very much like a map of Paris that I have under glass on the coffee table in my livingroom. I love the soft colors.
I hope you are doing well.
Mandy
Oh you just keep doing it Sande, another wonderfully gorgeous wrap. I love it!!
ReplyDeleteYou are in good company with the tissue paper in the suitcase. If you visit Her Majesty the housekeepers will repack when you leave and do the exact same thing....no not from personal experience lol.
Even though I'm not new I'm taking one of those sweets....thank you :)
xoxo
O.K. You...F A B U L O U S !! This left bank is on the top of the list. It is so beautiful Sande and you do such an amazing job! Is it time yet to come see me?
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!!

How will I ever bring myself to open this "piece de resistance" of yours? Honestly I think I will have to leave it all wrapped up in it's pink parisienne finery for a time.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a 2 part gift, because receiving an empty box wrapped by you would be enough!!

I love that Paris map paper...somehow I managed to sell all of mine before ever framing one, it does look so great in a frame. And yes, there is nothing better for packing {especially for long airplane trips} than tissue. It makes one happy just to open the suitcase and look in, you are so right!

I think it's not just the contents but also the wrapping that makes the gift!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for that lovely picture of the Left Bank wrapped present... It looks stunning and these things always bring a little (sad) smile to my face as I miss my home town...
ReplyDeleteGigi just sent me over....I really am beginning to wonder if I will ever lead a normal life again!! I no longer have time to do anything but read and follow all you wonderfully talented people. Guess I am now another follower!!!

Oh Sande,
ReplyDeleteThat gift looks amazing.
I love wrapping presents and I get SO much inspiration from you.
My good friend Gigi sounds so delighted with her present. It is a shame that, to get to the gift, it has to be opened !!
I love the Pink Paris photograph too. XXXX
I adore Terri and her terrific blog too. She may just never open your perfect package. I thank you too for the good advice in regards to tissue & packing. Next trip, I'm going tissue to my hearts content! Thanks as always Sande and hoping you all have a lovely weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteKeep the pinks coming! And this Paris street scene is gorgeous! I laughed out loud when I read your comment that wired ribbons have a mind of their own, sooooo true!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhh gorgeous gift wrapping!Love it!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Sande,
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, pink and a map of the Left Bank - you have it all covered beautifully. I can vouch for your packing with tissue tip, people think it sounds odd but it works.
Bon weekend

ReplyDeleteMmm, now I'm craving some dessert :)
