One day I tell you to wrap gifts in floral boxes and the next I tell you to wrap florals in gift wrap..............am I all backwards or what? My son always has me embellish cellophane wrapped floral bouquets, he thinks this extra level of presentation scores him thoughful guy points with the ladies and maybe it does.
I do think over wrapping the cellophane does bump up the wow factor a bit so I am happy to do my motherly duty, being that he is still single. I do what I can to help him along. This paper wrapped bouquet does work best with a thicker paper so it stays stiff when adding all the ribbons. This paper is one of those fiber papers that holds it rolled shape. I wanted to keep the ribbon selection simpler but my son wanted the wanted the full nine yards literally.
Thank you to readers who left such lovely comments this week
and a gift wrapped thank you to new followers.

I don't know why your son hasn't been snapped up yet Sande .... he obviously is so lovely, sending all of the ladies flowers ( and so beautifully wrapped by you!!) I don't think that it will be long before his single status changes ( and you will be able to take some cedit for it too !)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, beautifully wrapped and will certainly make a wonderful impression on any lady.
Have a lovely weekend Sande. XXXX
I love the combination of the strong black and white paper with the soft colours of the ribbons. And the small stickers to close the paper edges instead of tape - perfect. I guy could get away with simple daisies inside the parcel with gorgeous wrap like that.
ReplyDeleteSande I can see your great taste has rubbed off on your son. Very clever, I have never thought to do this and it is indeed a wow factor!

What a great idea - and even more fun that your son requested it. I tell you, it would win me over!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this bouquet, and the wrapping paper is genius! The bow doesn't hurt either. Beautiful, Sande.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday.

Love that paper - it is absolutely gorgeous. It is inspiring to work with different textures, colour combinations, fabrics, materials - I feel privileged when I can prepare a gift meticulously so that the receiver can enjoy the entire experience of unravelling, don't you?
ReplyDeleteOh Sande~
ReplyDeleteAnd he is the "thoughtful guy"! How could he not be with you as his Mom? He has learned from the BEST and one day he will make someone very happy, it will be a thoughtful and very pretty little lady, just like his Mom!!
XO
It sounds like your son is very smart to use the best giftwrapper in the world to create a gorgeous, unique bouquet for his Valentine. Why wouldn't he?? That black and white graphic paper is so striking and sophisticated. I imagine whoever received this package was quite smitten!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend!

This takes me back (not that many years ago) to when I was drafted by both of my son's to help them with gift wrap when a lovely lady was involved. The older son is married and has provided us with a darling granddaughter and our younger son is engaged and will be married this year...clearly we mom's have a hand in this courting! :-)
ReplyDeleteBTW, the ribbon and wrap looks amazing.

I wish my Mother In Law would have taught my husband about giving flowers, much less about wrapping them. I'm making a mental note that if my sons are to learn this art, it's up to me! Thank you for creating such beauty and sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteSande, I think this is a brilliant idea! Your son seems to take after you in the artistic department.

The wrappings are as beautiful as the flowers. Great post!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic idea!! I'm with your son on the "all nine yards" of ribbon. Super idea !!
ReplyDeleteRemind me again....how old? Ahem...my daughter would kill me if she knew I asked thai! Oh gosh he's a handsome one Sande and you are the best mom for taking such care. I love this idea. Are you kidding? It's not backwards, it's genious and it has YOU written all over it.
ReplyDeleteWanted to also thank you again for the Los Cab granola recipe. It's the real deal! Shared our story with my readers this evening & I expect they'll be moseying over soon to get the recipe!
Have a great weekend.
