Vaux LeVicomte ~ Carla Coulson
As of today I was still operating under the assumption it was summer, still reading the newspaper on the veranda, still wearing linen (though technically incorrect), and still seeing green wherever I looked. I ignored all the blogs posting fall recipes, fall chores, fall clothing. But fall came today, cold, gray and wet and hard to ignore. OK, OK ..............goodbye summer of 2009 and goodbye to vibrant green.
But one last look at green in it's most fashionable way, here's another photo from stylish blog Dust Jacket Attic who I posted about on Friday..........my favorite image. So one last goodbye to green for now, but HELLO........
..............to Clive Owen. He's back as Man of the Week at Dust Jacket Attic by request and you can thank me. I am one of those women who has never even looked at another man in a very long marriage (kind of had a thing for Robert Redford though he kind of looked like my husband so that didn't count) but jeez.......he just turns me into the silliest, middle-aged woman ever. It's not like I am ever going to meet him or anything.
Hello Fall.
Isn't this the most gorgeous apple pie ever?
I found it over at the blog The Bottom of the Ironing Basket and
just had to share. She has a great blog too.
If this is what fall looks like, I'll have a slice.
Oh Sande, thank you so much for the mention, what a lovely surprise....those apples are incredible aren't they.
ReplyDeleteI just popped over to say congrats on your Clive campaign and for restoring to him to his rightful place on DJA's sidebar....he just looks so right there doesn't he?
I absolutely love the photos you have used in this post - no. 2 is stunning.
The weather is sunny here in London today but there is a definite freshness in the air, today is quite beautiful.
And Robert Redford....yes, I can quite understand that.....he is very handsome although I have to confess to being very disappointed when he had his some cosmetic surgery done on his eyes done recently - and they did such an obvious job of it - don't mess with perfection Mr Redford :)
Have a lovely day,
Simone :)
I just loved that you were ignoring fall until it hit you in the face.
ReplyDeleteI know there is just something gorgeous about him and not just his looks. He was so great in Duplicity ... hmmmm :)
I've asked Simone to trip him up on his jogs in the park and kidnap him for us. We are on the case Sande.
xoxo
Fantastic post Sande, that apple pie, what a piece of art.
ReplyDeleteLove Renee xoxo
Goodbye summer, it sure is Sande....xv
ReplyDeleteSande, you have to accept that Autumn is here and embrace it.!!
ReplyDeleteHave a slice of Simones apple pie, sit back and watch the beautiful leaves change colour and flutter to the ground.
Then you will have to go through the same process again as winter draws in !!!! XXXX
Sande, I've never seen anything like that pie! And the couture photos: amazing. You certainly have an artist's eye!
ReplyDeleteOh my all your items today are lovely...now those model's dresses are so so couture! I love them! Hope your Tuesday is going well and even though it is sad to say goodbye to Summer...I welcome Fall with open arms! xoxxo
ReplyDeleteSande,
ReplyDeleteI am also in denial when it comes to Autumn. I miss Summer already, but I must prepare for the delicious apple pies and warm ciders that await me!
Congrats on the Clive campaign...and who knows, you might just meet him one day. Never ever forget to chase your dreams! (Even if it is only for a sweet hello!) :)
Bisous,
Melissa
Oh my..... great photos!!! What a fun apple pie! Nice Clive! Gorgeous green frocks!
ReplyDeleteI am going to make that apple tart/pie in hopes that Clive will come for dinner in celebration of the Autumn!! Green is my color and I shall never forget my Grandmother saying to me as I drove her to work at (93) have you ever seen a color more spectacular than that of green!
ReplyDeleteOf course Kentucky Bluegrass is special sort of green.

Aren't you full of tease today my fun friend! What about that face of Mr. Owen?? I'm not sure if I like him or those green skirts or those apples that look like roses.. I can almost smell apple pie from here... Great post Sande girl!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't started to pack yet but I am dying to start. When are you leaving with Robert Redford? Maybe we will be in France at the same time and we can meet for a hug and tea...
XO's
p.s. you asked what I am doing with a zebra in my living room.... my husband was wondering the same thing... I am very weird, I know... I can't help myself. I have lotz of stories for you!
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to drop 20 degrees tonight...no more Vegas heat! What a great post, thank you for mentioning some great and fun new bloggers for me!
ReplyDeleteTime to get the fall wardrobe in gear!

I am dying for some Fall weather, here in hot Southern California. We were teased yesterday, but it's hot again today. Typical. I love the beautiful garden photo, and of course Clive, and last but not least, that apple rose pie is a work of art! Gorgeous post.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a wonderful eye for the most gorgeous colors and images.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I read it while cozying up on my couch with a blanket and my two dogs. It's just that chilly today, and I had New England Clam Chowder for the first time this season. PS Found you by way of Melissa from Reverie...I love the concept of your blog;)
