While in the beginning stages of an overdue closet purge, I came across a few of my older Mary Frances handbags that are definitely not on the purge list. Then I thought I would go take a look at her new ones, anything to delay being purge-decisive and something definitely more fun. You might want to go pick a couple of your favorites as well and add them to your wish list. I have gifted Mary Frances purses (what we call handbags and clutches here in Canada) a few times and can tell you it is always a special gift choice to give or receive. Looking at pretty purses got me thinking about my all-time favorite pair of dress shoes that I have had for several years now. I wear them any chance I get, which isn't nearly enough. I almost feel I should apologize to them.
Mind you, I do get almost as much pleasure looking at my Lualdi shoes as I do wearing them. They are one of my most comfortable heels which is saying alot these days and with the mix of chartreuse, blue, pink, gold, rust and............
................an unexpected red heel, these Italian beauties go with just about anything in my closet. You can see they have been well-worn..........
..........and they are certainly well-loved. I am sorry I don't wear you more.

Well I'm ashamed to say I didn't know about Mary Frances handbags - this is what happens when you live in the French countryside - so thank you for this. They are quite beautiful, jewel like actually.

I would never be able to purge those purses. They are beautiful! Oh those shoes too!! I love how the heel looks.
ReplyDeleteThey're definitely not for purging. Jewels for the arms and the feet, too. You have fabulous taste, Sande.

Oh no, I'm trying to do a purge at the moment as well. It's horrible isn't it? It's like telling one of your children you love them less than the other! But I have broken another wardrobe (that makes 5!) with the weight so they have to go :(
ReplyDeleteSande, these are each like little GEMS and it seems that you treat them that way! The shoes make me smile. You could wear them anywhere and feel like a princess. Thank you for opening your wardrobe for show and tell! xx P&H
ReplyDeleteSande, thanks so much for your sweet "grandmama" words, I am beyond ecstatic about our newest petite Fille! Bags and shoes, to die for. You should definately take those heels out more. They are fabulous! :) xo Lidy
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful treasures ... I will have to check out Mary Frances handbags... and the shoes ... a picture is certainly worth a thousand words - !!!
ReplyDeleteI agree one can get just as much pleasure by looking at ones footware - as actually wearing it. That is what has gotten me through some of my roughests days ... I may not be able to easily wear heels like I use to .. but they still give me a lift when my spirits are down.
Those new bags are amazing Sande! Loved the white roses with the pearl handle the best until I saw the turqoise beaded one!! AND your shoes are Adoralbe!!! Good thing you don't wear them more...they would be worn out by now. They are beautiful and I know you must look amazing in them.

Your shoes look like they have been gift wrapped!
ReplyDeleteDear Sande,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful bags...they look vintage, don't they ?.... and your shoes are works of art in themselves. They really need to be left out to be look at and admired, and, it's lovely that you wear them so often. Sometimes, it's the beautiful shoes that are uncomfortable. I really feel that we need a photograph of you wearing them !!
Enjoy the weekend, Sande. XXXX
Adore your shoes. Somehow they remind of my Spanish Pura Lopez shoes, even though mine look quite different... I bought matte sand silver brocade shoes for my wedding, but have used them for other big parties as well. This reminds to write a posting in my blog about them.
ReplyDeleteRecently, I carried the Sea World bag at my son's wedding which took place in Bermuda. It was perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove purses, and these are definitely keepers! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteOMG, we can't purge beautiful things! Ever. We want to keep them to look at, arrange them all in a beautiful glass-fronted case and act like they are museum-quality art. I've given so many Mary Frances bags, and have a lot myself. Everyone loves them, especially the wildest ones.
ReplyDeleteBTW, your shoes are beautiful too. xx's from Texas
