A summer read..............for autumn

Apparently, The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty was on the NY Times bestseller list this summer and also listed as #1 for summer reads on various lists. Truthfully, it doesn't happen often but occasionally a really, really good book will escape my notice. And occasionally that lapse can be timed perfectly, landing in my laptop exactly when I need a fabulous read. Such was the case this weekend. As you will see..........things are never what they seem.

NY Times review here but spoiler alert.

  2. Lovely suggestion. It seems like a perfect follow up to the delightful "Rules of Civility" that I just finished. Thank you and have a beautiful Sunday!

  4. Unrelated (though I will certainly circle back for this book when my schedule dies down :) but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading of your Paris adventures with Vicki Archer. The photos were gorgeous and I fell in love with that silk blouse you purchased. Stunning. I could not believe the price and I explored the site from the states and ended up treating myself to it. It is silly but it is an amazing luxury to me to see something so pretty being enjoyed in Paris and then have it arrive (free shipping, free returns, great price...) at my own doorstep. Thanks so much !!!!

  11. Thank you for highlighting this book! I had not heard of it either, and being a native and current resident of Wichita, KS I am very excited to read it! I am #25 on the wait list at the Wichita Public Library - I may have to head to my bookstore instead.
