Ribbon.............with a vintage french style
Narrow to wide, grosgrain to jute, even ticking, the Etsy shop Flea Market Chick has a fabulous selection of vintage french style ribbons. They may not be exactly vintage but she has captured the look in her large assortment. I was excited to run across this Etsy source because I love black and ivory grosgrain, especially the sweet narrow one (no. 5) and I like the stylish understatement of these neutral ribbon colours and patterns on a solid black gift wrap paper or Kraft paper, it is one of my favorite gift presentation styles. Simple and elegant, always. There is plenty to be said for using a variety of these ribbon choices if you have a gift of multiple gift packages. You just can't go wrong.

I love these choices. It's difficult to find specific pieces that will work for a masculine gift presentation - and these would be perfect for the needs of his-ness.

I just checked out the Etsy and that burlap ribbon would look superb in a garden or wrapped around a handful of herbs- perfectly natural and handles the elements well.

Good morning dear,
ReplyDeleteI must visit Flea Market Chic as I adore vintage ribbons. Proud to tell you that I have a few ribbons that I reserve for very special occasions for family only. My mother has cherished each and every one and graciously returns them tied beautifully around anything special that she sends back my way. Everything she sends is special I might add. You would love her Sande. The other day I received an envelope in the mail from her. The only content was a beautiful white satin ribbon from Chanel. No note needed.
I'll look forward to seeing ribbons from this special Etsy shop that you have discovered around some of your beautiful creations!
Taylor and I made a big batch of Granola this week and I thought of you!
Have a great weekend.

This would be a great look for my showroom wrapping. I currently use chocolate brown gros grain with brown tissue and brown paper bags. Your election would make a great update.
ReplyDeleteHi Sande, Such a wonderful choice of colours and textures. The French would be proud of you.. Carla xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ribbon Sande. I saw the last one on a big linen carryall in Paris this week...I was so so tempted. I went for a long strapped Longchamp bag instead...but now think I should have grabbed the bag after seeing your photo.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes..
