meet dainty miss daisy

Our normally neat home has turned into puppy central. The floor is littered with puppy pads, chew toys, and carpet samples (so she exercises her little legs and doesn't slip and slide on our tile floors). I haven't had a full night sleep in a week, she drags my clothes all over the house, and loves tissue paper and sparkly shoes. We are smitten with dainty Daisy and her heart-shaped nose and everything about her. Our little Mi Ki is a loving, affectionate, calm, intelligent and sweet as can be, or was..................

......today marked the devilish day when Daisy decided to see exactly how tolerant and loving this new family of hers actually was.............. exploring past boundaries, stealing clothes, running in circles, hiding under chairs, dragging tissue paper, chewing Christmas tree branches, smelling dust balls, skipping naps, you name it and demon Daisy (as we called her today) tried it. In fact she was so mischievous she wore herself out. All of us I might add.

Then Daisy curled up in a snugly pose and fell fast asleep.
Thank heaven for little puppies, especially when they go to sleep.
She is simply adorable even if I do say so myself.

  10. Oh Sande, she is exquisite! I put out lots & lots of hints to Santa (aka the Man-Of-The-House) for something similiar but to no avail. We've been pet-less for 18 mths. now & I'm very ready to welcome a new little pet person into our home. MOTH will be referred straight to this post when he gets home from work today!

  11. Dearest Sande,

You sure had a NOSE for heart! What an increadible feature on that cute face of Daisy 'Devilette'... But don't be too harsh on her; she's only a cute little baby. It is tiresome for raising them and especially the intelligent and hyper species. Well, those two go together or else you have a dumb and lazy one that only eats and 'leaks'...

Wish you lots of joy with her and make sure you don't eat her alive!

  12. Dearest Sande,

Got too excited about Daisy 'Devilette' and I was already all day excited as my Papa turned 90 today (on our watch). Did a blog about him too.
What I forgot to mention is that on the 3rd I've posted a High End 925/000 silver alphabet angel from Tuscany as International Giveaway... So you might try for a letter 'D'.

    Good luck!

  24. Sande,
She is sooooooo cute! I once had a dog named Daisy...so glad to hear it again. The first 2 years we had our golden retreiver she would take ornaments off the the lower branches of the Christmas tree, hide behind the sofa and destroy them!!!

When she naps...so should you...survival of the fittest!

  25. But all is forgiven because she is so unbelievably adorable!! She looks just like a Steiff doll!

  28. Oh.... I want her! :) How adorable! Daisy's nose makes my heart simply melt! We have been considering a puppy ourselves, and this post has pushed me over the edge!

P.S. As I type this one of my cats is eating a houseplant and the other one is tearing up and down the hallway, sliding into the furniture. They make me crazy, but I love them so! :)

  45. Oh my gosh, how adorable is that new puppy? It's so funny, I just got up from illustrating a little yorkie on a leash for next week's Ooh La Frou Frou Collection post, sat down and clicked on your blog on my blogroll to find your darling new baby! One of the Ooh La Frou Frou girls, Aimee, has a little yorkie called Paree, since she loves Paris so much and that's the dog I was referring to. The illustration of Paree is also in one of the Christmas posts, I believe the one just before the current post if you're interested. Good luck with all the puppy adventures!! Oh ... and have a wonderfully wrapped new year! xo

  50. Oh how adorable! My yorkie is the same way, bad and then melts your heart, because they are so adorable. Good Luck with little Miss Daisy and training her. My Yorkie is still confused at time about where to potty :)

  51. What a darling puppy!!!! I always say that God made puppies so cute....so you won't kill them. Oh...they can be little rascals. But....oh....this makes me want another. All my dogs are grown and I haven't had a puppy in five years....but oh...this makes me want one. Even if you have to constantly get up and take things out of it's mouth...get up in the middle of the night for potty breaks....keep it from pestering the older dogs....there is only one thing better than a puppy and that is the dog it will grow into being.

Congratulations! I just found your blog today and so glad I did.

  52. What a sweetie pie. It will all be worth it - you know that.

Lucy was actually Daisy for a day...then she seemed more like a Lucy. I love your little miss Daisy.

  54. Happy New Year, Sande!
    A very belated one, as
    I've been down with flu
    since the 28th. There
    is nothing like a puppy
    to set your heart a-flame
    and Daisy looks like pure
love from the tip of her
nose to the tip of her tail.
    LOVED the last pic!

  58. puppies are the best!!! if i had my way, and probably it's good i don't, i would be adopting every stray puppy i see on the side of the road (and here there are many) and taking them home. dogs are not so well treated here, it does break my heart.
