Wedding Envelopes.........with an extra touch

My sincere apologies for not posting in the past few weeks, it has been what summer is supposed to be......busy and full of weddings, parties, quick weekend trips, getting my Dad settled back home and catching up with our son who is home for a few months between rotations. Our humid, humid weather zapped the energy out of most of us during July and though I am never one to wish away time, I do hope August is just a tad cooler. I cannot for the life of me figure out why I have not thought of this obvious idea before, I am always looking for ways to make a wedding envelope more of a presentation. In the past I have searched out and found boxes for that occasion only to arrive at the reception and find they won't fit into the holder slot. A reception is no time to gain promises that your awkward card shape will find its way to the bride and groom. With that in mind, I tied a simple but gorgeous length of ivory double-face satin ribbon would give any simple wedding envelope the extra touch that I think it deserves for this romantic occasion.

  2. No one could miss seeing such a beautiful envelope. The heat has zapped us all. Sounds like you've found some lovely occasions to take your mind off of it. I'm hoping for some August relief, too...hoping.

  4. Sande,

I had already planned on writing you today to make sure all was okay in your world. I agree that the heat in July makes us so lethargic...wishing for a dip in the pool or a automnal breeze...
I love double-faced satin ribbon, and this idea is gorgeous!

  10. Beautiful! I plan to use this idea for a birthday card in a couple of weeks.
I love your blog and the lovely gifts you create. I put so much thought into gift wrapping that I sometimes worry that the gift itself will be a disappointment ;)
    Wishing you a lovely weekend.
    xoxo, B

  15. would you write about scissors in one of your posts. i can never find a pair i am happy with and a good pair of scissors is critical for cutting ribbon.

thank you for your wonderful ideas and the beauty you bring to others.

  17. Sande ~

So glad you popped in to say hello ~ but I completely understand about the lack of time for blogging! There are so many wonderful things to do, see, and be a part of during this time of year. Enjoy every moment!

You look beautiful all dressed-up with your baubles ~

  19. Absolutely gorgeous, Sande....as per usual !! I don't think that you are capable of doing anything but gorgeous !!
So pleased to hear that your dad is recovering and settling back in his own home.
I can so relate to having time off from blogging in the Summer. I have been out and about a lot and sometimes feel bad that I haven't commented on everyones posts but, we do have to live our lives, which are a little more important than blogging !!!!
    Enjoy the weekend, Sande. XXXX

  23. Sande you are living life as you should. Family comes first and then the fun. With our adult kids we need to catch them when we can as they don't stay in one place for long. I hope all goes well for your father too?

I've had that predicament with a wedding card and I love what you have done. Although no shock to my system that you came up with such a stylish, gorgeous idea. Enjoy August and I hope that the humidity is long gone. We are void of humidity here for the weekend & cannot believe how I have missed living without it. My hair actually has some height!

Hugs to you my friend xx
